SunExpress Reaches the Top in Europe with CFM LEAP-1B Engine Financing

SunExpress, a joint venture of Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, has been honoured with one of the most prestigious awards in the European aviation sector. The airline won the “European Structured Finance Deal of the Year” award at the Aviation 100 European Awards, once again proving its success in the field of finance.

Organised by Airline Economics, one of the leading publications in the aviation industry, the Aviation 100 European Awards recognise Europe’s most successful companies and deals, determined by the votes of industry professionals. The awards are based on criteria such as financial and operational performance, implementation of strategic plans, and future vision.

At the ceremony held in London, hosted by the Natural History Museum, SunExpress stood out with its innovative financing model and became the recipient of the award.

Last year, the company drew attention with the financing of three CFM LEAP-1B spare engines, carried out under the guarantee of the French export bank Bpifrance, through Societe Generale Bank, and within the framework of the French Tax Lease structure. This project was recognised as one of Europe’s most successful structured finance deals, earning SunExpress the award.
