On Wednesday, 16 July, SunExpress launched its first scheduled flight on the Batman-İzmir route, becoming the second airline to operate on the route after Pegasus Airlines. The inaugural flight operated at full capacity and attracted great interest.
The SunExpress aircraft, registered TC-SME, took off from İzmir Adnan Menderes Airport in the morning and landed smoothly at Batman Airport at 07:20. Disembarking passengers were welcomed with chocolates offered by ground staff and flowers presented to the cabin crew.
The first flight recorded a 100% occupancy rate. The return flight departed Batman at 08:24.
Flight Frequency Increases: Four Weekly Flights
With the new arrangement, Pegasus Airlines will continue flying on Tuesdays and Fridays, while SunExpress will operate round-trip flights on Wednesdays and Fridays. This means two different airlines will serve the route on Fridays, offering increased travel options.
The SunExpress Batman flight schedule is as follows:
Wednesdays:
İzmir departure: 06:30
Batman arrival: 07:35
Batman departure: 08:15
Fridays:
İzmir departure: 22:00
Batman arrival: 23:05
Batman departure: 23:45
More Travel Alternatives Available
With SunExpress joining the route, the total number of weekly flights between Batman and İzmir has increased to four. This expansion will not only diversify travel alternatives between the two cities but also contribute significantly to passenger traffic in the region.
