SunExpress Sees Rapid Growth in the UK and Ireland

In an interview with Darren McCaffrey on BusinessLive Sky News London, SunExpress CEO Dr Max Kownatzki discussed the airline’s rapid growth in the UK and Irish markets, as well as Türkiye’s rising appeal among British travellers.
Kownatzki emphasised that Türkiye continues to win the hearts of UK holidaymakers with its wealth of “sun, culture, and adventure” — and that SunExpress is leading the way in meeting this growing demand.
Fourfold Growth: Targeting 2 Million Seats
“We have quadrupled our seat capacity between the UK, Ireland and Türkiye since 2022,” Kownatzki stated. “For 2025, we are targeting a total of 2 million seats.”
Highlighting that SunExpress is the market leader in flights between the UK/Ireland and Türkiye, Kownatzki noted that the airline plans to expand its flight network even further in 2025.
