A military jet has crashed in Algeria’s Adrar province. It was reported that the aircraft’s pilot lost his life in the accident.
The Su-30 fighter jet, belonging to the Algerian Air Force, crashed for reasons yet to be determined. Footage circulating on social media after the incident showed thick smoke rising from the crash site.
Algerian officials confirmed that the downed aircraft was a Su-30 model, while some sources speculated that it could be a newly acquired Su-35 from Russia. However, these claims have not been officially verified.
In a statement from the Algerian Ministry of Defence, it was announced that a comprehensive investigation had been launched to determine the cause of the crash. Additionally, teams dispatched to the scene are continuing search and rescue operations.
The results of the investigation are expected to be shared with the public in the coming days.
