President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made very strong statements regarding the fight against terrorism and the responsibility of the media in this struggle during the opening of the SAHA EXPO 2024 Defense, Aerospace, and Space Industry Fair held at the Istanbul Fair Center. Criticizing social media platforms harshly with the words, “Social media platforms, where there are no moral values or self-regulation, have become areas that complete the missing elements of the terrorist actions being carried out against Turkey,” Erdoğan made a direct call to the media: “The media should not serve the dark goals of terrorism for the sake of ratings!”

President Erdoğan stated that Turkey will continue to resist terrorism and the foreign powers supporting it, saying, “The Republic of Turkey is a stronger, more resilient state than the imperialist gangs sent against us.” He emphasized that Turkey is determined to advance toward its goal of becoming a country free of terrorism, delivering a strong message to those trying to undermine national unity.
A Warning to the Media: “Act Responsibly!”
The President criticized media outlets for their irresponsible broadcasts about terrorist incidents made for the sake of ratings and reminded them of their social responsibility. “Those who target our nation’s esteemed institutions for the sake of ratings are causing irreparable harm to the security of our state,” said Erdoğan, stressing that the media should act with sensitivity in such events. “We will resolutely address such irresponsibility,” he said, expressing his clear reaction to certain media outlets accused of misleading the public.
The Turkish Century Cannot Be Stopped!
Despite the efforts of terrorist organizations to drag the country into darkness, Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey will not deviate from its vision of a “Great and Powerful Turkey.” “No terrorist attack can break the eternal brotherhood of this nation,” said the President, reaffirming Turkey’s unwavering stance against terrorism and its supporters.
