Turkish Airlines (THY) has signed a comprehensive technology and distribution agreement with Sabre Corporation, one of the world’s leading providers of travel technology. Under the agreement, as of 24 June 2025, Turkish Airlines flights are once again available for sale on the Sabre global distribution system (GDS) platform.
Strengthened Collaboration After a Temporary Separation
On 1 September 2024, Turkish Airlines had ended its ticket sales agreement with Sabre, shifting focus to its own next-generation distribution platform, TKConnect, for direct sales. While this temporary separation posed some challenges for global travel agencies, it also led to increased reliance on alternative booking channels.
Now, the renewed agreement not only restores the distribution collaboration between the two companies but also initiates a strategic partnership focused on technology integration and operational efficiency.
Operational Transformation Through New Technology Integration
As part of the renewed collaboration, Turkish Airlines will begin using Sabre’s advanced flight tracking and optimization tool, Flight Explorer. The airline was already using Sabre’s AirCentre Flight Plan Manager system for flight planning, which will continue under the new agreement.
With this comprehensive technology infrastructure, Turkish Airlines will be able to:
-
Improve flight planning using real-time data,
-
Reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions, contributing to its sustainability goals,
-
Identify optimal routes to enhance cost efficiency.
A New Step Toward Strategic Growth
This new agreement between Turkish Airlines and Sabre supports the airline’s global growth ambitions. Equipped with Sabre’s advanced technology solutions, Turkish Airlines is accelerating its digital transformation while once again expanding accessibility for travel agencies worldwide.
