Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Lockheed Martin at the 2025 Paris International Air Show. The two companies decided to join forces to expand their cooperation in the aerospace and defense industries and develop joint projects in new technology fields.

KAI officials stated that the agreement will not only enhance existing projects but also increase collaboration in advanced technology and new market exploration. The partnership plans to work together across various areas including technology development, export cooperation, training systems, maintenance, and operations.
Joint Marketing for Entry into the U.S. Market
Lockheed Martin and KAI will boost joint marketing efforts in the U.S. market, especially under the U.S. Navy’s Licensed Jet Training System (UJTS) program. This move is seen as a strategic step to strengthen both companies’ global presence in the defense industry.
Collaboration on New Technologies and Systems
Other areas covered by the MOU include rotary-wing aircraft, unmanned aerial systems (UAS), artificial intelligence-based autonomous systems, space technologies, and performance enhancements. KAI and Lockheed Martin aim to increase cooperation to innovate and develop advanced solutions in these fields.
