Chairman of the Board of Directors of Turkish Airlines, Ahmet Bolat, made significant statements at the traditional “Management Summit” held in Antalya. The summit, which focused on evaluating the past year and setting goals and plans for the future, highlighted the theme of “Leave a Mark.”
The event in Antalya brought together over 800 managers and stakeholders of Turkish Airlines. Bolat emphasized that only a few hotels in Turkey have the necessary capacity for such an event and expressed hope that investments to boost the country’s tourism potential would lead to the construction of similar facilities beyond Antalya.
“Leave a Mark” Theme and Turkish Airlines’ Global Impact
The summit was also attended by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, who highlighted the contributions of Turkish Airlines to the Turkish economy. Bolat underlined that Turkish Airlines is not merely an airline but also plays a critical role in reducing the nation’s current account deficit.
Speaking about the airline’s 2024 performance, Bolat stated that Turkish Airlines generated a net current account surplus of $8.5 billion, significantly contributing to the national economy. He also noted that the brand acts as a bridge, carrying Turkey’s cultural and historical legacy to the world:
“Turkish Airlines is not just an operational brand; it is also a value that carries our country’s history, culture, and imprints, leaving a mark on the world stage.”
Productive Sessions on Strategy and Objectives
At the summit, Turkish Airlines’ Deputy General Managers, unit heads, and managers presented their strategies and projects in general sessions and parallel meetings. Bolat mentioned that he listened to presentations by over 50 managers, while CEO Bilal Ekşi engaged in more comprehensive discussions.
The general managers of 18 subsidiary companies within the Turkish Airlines ecosystem detailed their 2024 performance and contributions to the airline’s success. At the conclusion of the summit, the necessary steps to achieve shared missions and objectives were determined, and new goals were announced.
“I believe 2025 will be a pivotal year in achieving our targets,” said Bolat, describing the summit as both productive and intensive.
Enriching Activities and Workshops
The summit extended beyond strategy and presentations, offering participants a rich array of activities. Workshops featuring Anatolia’s ancient traditions, such as making “first bread” and preparing stuffed meatballs, as well as artistic workshops like ceramics, tile painting, and jewelry design, garnered significant interest.
Morning health exercises and the “trust and release” teamwork game were among the most appreciated activities by participants.
Message of Gratitude and Vision for the Future
Ahmet Bolat expressed his gratitude to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who sent a letter of support to the summit, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, the Governor of Antalya, and all individuals involved in organizing the event.
In closing, Bolat expressed confidence that 2025 would be a “year to leave a mark” for Turkish Airlines and stated that the summit would generate valuable outcomes for the brand.
