SriLankan Airlines Joins German Airline Association (BARIG) – Strengthening Aviation Partnership with Germany

Sri Lanka’s national carrier, SriLankan Airlines, has expanded its presence in the German market by joining the Board of Airline Representatives in Germany (BARIG). As a member of the Oneworld alliance with a fleet of 24 Airbus aircraft flying to 114 destinations in 62 countries, SriLankan Airlines aims to foster strong partnerships with key aviation organizations in Germany. The airline currently operates three direct flights per week from Frankfurt to Colombo, with Sri Lanka welcoming over 100,000 German tourists annually.

BARIG Executive Director Michael Hoppe expressed his enthusiasm for SriLankan Airlines’ membership, stating, “Sri Lanka is a destination that attracts thousands of German tourists each year.
