A private jet preparing for takeoff at Istanbul Atatürk Airport triggered a fire alarm in the early morning hours. The pilot of the TC-DOA registered aircraft received a cockpit smoke warning while taxiing to the runway for a flight to Çorlu Airport. Following the warning, air traffic control activated emergency procedures.
The airport’s Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) teams quickly arrived at the scene and intervened immediately. Thanks to the swift response of the teams, no casualties or injuries were reported.
Runway Temporarily Closed
Due to the fire alarm, the runway was temporarily closed to air traffic. After the private jet was towed away, the runway was reopened for use.
Authorities announced that a technical investigation has been launched into the incident and the aircraft will undergo a detailed inspection.
