Baykar, the developer of Turkey’s nationally produced and original unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) systems, ranked once again among the top 10 exporting companies in Turkey in 2024. At the “Champions of Export” awards ceremony organised by the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), the award was presented by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Selçuk Bayraktar, Chairman of Baykar’s Board of Directors.
Having made history in 2023 as the first defence and aerospace company to enter the national top exporters list, Baykar maintained its top position this year with steady growth. According to data released by TİM, Baykar was among the top 10 companies in goods exports nationwide and led the defence and aerospace sector in exports.
With $1.8 billion in exports in 2024, Baykar achieved significant success not only in its own sector but also across the country. The company accounted for one-quarter of the total exports in the defence and aerospace industry, once again solidifying its leadership.
In a statement from Baykar, the company said:
“Since our founding, we have carried out all our projects using our own resources. Since we began our UAV R&D efforts in 2003, 83% of our revenue has come from exports, and in recent years this figure has exceeded 90%. Being Turkey’s top defence and aerospace exporter in 2021, 2022, 2023, and now in 2024 is a great source of pride for us.”
Baykar is also gaining global recognition for its success. The company has signed export agreements for the Bayraktar TB2 UCAV with 35 countries, and for the Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV with 15 countries, reaching a total of 36 countries. This success has positioned Baykar among the world’s leading unmanned aerial vehicle manufacturers.
