Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (ISG), Türkiye’s second busiest and Europe’s ninth busiest airport, took part in the Global Transport Corridors Forum held at the Istanbul Congress Center from 27–29 June 2025, once again demonstrating its strategic position in the global aviation arena.
Organised under the leadership of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and hosted by Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the forum brought together representatives from more than 70 countries. The event welcomed transport ministers and deputy ministers from over 50 countries, as well as representatives from international organisations, financial institutions, the private sector, and industry experts, to discuss the future of transport corridors and opportunities for collaboration.

During the forum, ISG’s senior management engaged with both domestic and international stakeholders, presenting the airport’s growth vision and global role. At the ISG booth, comprehensive information was shared on the airport’s digitalisation initiatives, infrastructure development plans, and the technological and operational improvements carried out under the “Passenger Flow Enhancement Project.”
Following the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Enver İskurt visited the ISG booth and received updates from the airport management on current operations and investments.

Record-Breaking Performance
Strategically positioned at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa, Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport offers direct flights to a total of 146 destinations — 39 domestic and 107 international.
During the Eid al-Adha holiday period (5–9 June 2025), ISG welcomed 701,178 passengers and successfully handled 3,895 flights. On 5 June 2025 alone, the airport set a new all-time daily record with 796 scheduled passenger flights (820 total flights) and 144,590 passengers.

Strategic Goal: Leadership in Global Connectivity
Through its participation in international platforms, ISG aims to strengthen global connectivity, enhance the passenger experience, and maximise operational efficiency. Following the forum, ISG representatives stated, “We are proud to contribute to Türkiye’s vision of becoming a regional and global transportation hub. With our evolving infrastructure and digital solutions, we remain committed to providing the best possible service to global travellers.”
