Sabiha Gökçen Becomes Europe’s Second Fastest-Growing Airport
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport made a strong impression in the European aviation sector with its remarkable performance in the first two months of 2023. With an 8.7% increase in passenger numbers, it earned the title of Europe’s second fastest-growing airport.
According to the February 2025 air traffic report published by the Airports Council International (ACI) Europe, Sabiha Gökçen Airport achieved notable success in the “Major Airports” category, which includes airports serving over 40 million passengers. During the January–February 2025 period, the airport boosted its passenger traffic by 8.7%, securing 8th place on the list of Europe’s busiest airports.
