Ryanair’s Turkey Move: New Routes to Bodrum and Dalaman!

Low-cost airline Ryanair had cancelled flights to several popular holiday destinations this year, citing the “unfair” and “bizarre” aviation taxes introduced across Europe. The airline, which had cut back its flight schedules particularly in Spain, Germany, France, Italy, and Denmark, has now made a significant move for the summer season: it has announced the launch of several new routes for summer 2025.

Cancelled Flights: Spain the Most Affected Country

Last month, Ryanair announced that it would be reducing its traffic to Spain by 18% for summer 2025. As part of this, all flights to Jerez and Valladolid will be suspended. Additionally, there will be reductions in flights to Vigo, Santiago de Compostela, Zaragoza, Santander, and Asturias. In total, 12 routes will be cancelled, resulting in a loss of approximately 80,000 seats.

The airline attributed this decision to “increased or newly imposed flight taxes by short-sighted markets.”

New Ryanair Routes for Summer 2025

Despite these setbacks, Ryanair is expanding its network for the summer 2025 season. Several new destinations have been announced from London Stansted, Bournemouth, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Bristol. Some of these routes mark a return to destinations that have not been served for over a decade.

The new Ryanair routes are as follows:

  • London Stansted – Reggio Calabria (Italy): from 19 March
  • London Stansted – Bodrum (Turkey): from 19 March
  • London Stansted – Linz (Austria): from 24 March
  • London Stansted – Clermont-Ferrand (France): from 20 April
  • London Stansted – Münster (Germany): from 20 May
  • London Stansted – Dalaman (Turkey): from 2 June
  • Bournemouth – Fuerteventura (Canary Islands): from 1 April
  • Bournemouth – Chania (Greece): from 1 June
  • Bournemouth – Rhodes (Greece): from 4 June
  • Manchester – Rabat (Morocco): from 30 March
  • Manchester – Toulouse (France): from 31 March
  • Bristol – Toulouse: from 3 May
  • Edinburgh – Funchal (Portugal): from 30 March
  • Glasgow – Malta: from 1 April

Ryanair’s new routes come with highly competitive prices. According to the airline’s website, fares for all new destinations from London, except Dalaman, start at £14.99. For Dalaman, prices start at a minimum of £33.69.
