Professor Dr. Haluk Görgün, President of Turkey’s Presidency of Defense Industries, announced a record-breaking increase in Turkey’s defense and aerospace exports in 2024. Görgün revealed that the sector achieved a 29% growth in exports, reaching $7.154 billion.

In a statement shared on his social media account, Görgün highlighted the achievements of the defense industry with the following words:
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to our companies, dedicated sector employees, Presidency staff, subcontractors, and SMEs who contributed to this significant success.”
According to the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) report, the exports of Turkey’s defense and aerospace industry increased by 22% in 2024, reaching $6.734 billion. The $7.154 billion figure announced by the Presidency of Defense Industries includes NATO and service exports. Both figures exceeded the $6.5 billion export target set for 2024.

Görgün attributed Turkey’s success in the defense industry to the robust technologies developed under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan:
“With our proven technologies, we are rewriting the rules of the game on the global stage and proudly exporting products to 180 different countries. Thanks to our international cooperation efforts and extensive outreach, our companies can now export not just to specific regions but to nearly the entire world.”
