Qatar Airways’ Major Deal with Boeing: Agreement on 100 Wide-Body Jets in the Works

Qatar Airways is reported to have signed a deal to purchase around 100 wide-body jets from Boeing. The agreement is expected to be announced during Trump’s Middle East visit.

Qatar Airways, one of the leading airlines in the Middle East, is reported to have signed a deal with US-based aircraft manufacturer Boeing to purchase around 100 wide-body passenger jets. The agreement is expected to be publicly announced during US President Donald Trump’s visit to the Middle East.

According to an exclusive report by Bloomberg News on Tuesday, citing sources familiar with the matter, Qatar’s national airline is in the final stages of concluding a strategic aircraft purchase agreement with Boeing. The deal, which includes around 100 wide-body jets, is anticipated to be unveiled during Trump’s upcoming visit to the region, which will include stops in Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

Intense Competition in the Middle East

Bloomberg’s analysis suggests that, in the lead-up to Trump’s visit, major airlines in the Middle East are vying for attention through large commercial agreements. Qatar Airways’ Boeing order is seen as one of the standout moves in this context. Sources close to the negotiations have stated that the final touches are being made to the details of the agreement.

Strategic Expansion and New Routes

Doha-based Qatar Airways is continuing its strategic plans to expand its global network. Offering direct flights to key destinations around the world, the airline aims to further enhance its service capacity with this fleet expansion, capitalising on growing passenger demand and a flourishing international travel environment.

Trump’s Visit Drives Economic Agenda

Last month, Reuters reported that President Trump was preparing to offer Saudi Arabia a defence package worth over $100 billion. In this context, major commercial and defence deals are expected to feature prominently on the agenda during Trump’s Middle East tour.
