Qatar Airways aircraft that were diverted to Istanbul Airport due to the military escalation between Iran and Israel have now resumed flights to Qatar following the announcement of a ceasefire in the region.
Air traffic was temporarily halted after Iran launched missile attacks targeting U.S. bases in Qatar. As a result, several Qatar Airways planes were redirected to airports in Istanbul and Ankara.
With the ceasefire now in effect, the Qatar Airways aircraft held at Istanbul Airport were granted departure clearance. As of 07:30 yesterday morning, 7 out of the 10 grounded planes took off for Doha.
The remaining aircraft are expected to return to Qatar throughout the day, depending on further airspace coordination.
