In Eskişehir, the 50th anniversary of the F-4E Phantom jets, which joined the Turkish Air Force fleet in 1974, was celebrated with spectacular events. The celebration, held at Eskişehir’s 1st Main Jet Base Command, concluded with a breathtaking “elephant walk” involving 10 fighter jets.
F-4E Phantoms Soared in the Sky
Five F-4E Phantom jets from the 1st Main Jet Base’s 111th Squadron Command, known as the “Panther Squadron,” took to the skies for the event. The aircraft, adorned with Turkish flags and portraits of Atatürk, performed an impressive low-altitude flyby. Approximately 700 aviation photographers and members of the press captured these unforgettable moments.

Following the low-altitude flyby, a stunning “elephant walk” was performed with the participation of 10 fighter jets from the 1st Main Jet Base Command. The synchronized procession of jets captivated the audience with their precision and coordination.
