Turkey will procure a total of 44 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets from the United Kingdom, Qatar, and Oman. Deliveries will begin in 2026.
A cooperation agreement regarding the procurement of Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets was signed between Turkey and the United Kingdom. The agreement was concluded at the Presidential Complex following the meeting between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer in Ankara.

A Major Deal for 44 Aircraft
Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler announced that Turkey will acquire a total of 44 Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets — 20 from the United Kingdom, and 12 each from Qatar and Oman. Minister Güler stated that deliveries would begin at the start of next year, adding, “There are plans to increase this number in the future.”
Erdoğan: “We Are Strengthening Our Strategic Partnership”
President Erdoğan emphasised that the agreement marks a new milestone in Turkey–United Kingdom relations, saying, “This cooperation is a new symbol of our strategic partnership. Our goal is to raise our trade volume first to 30 billion dollars, and then to 40 billion dollars.”

Starmer: “The Eurofighter Agreement Will Strengthen NATO Security”
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the Eurofighter Typhoon agreement signed with Turkey would enhance NATO’s security and deepen defence cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking at the joint press conference held at the Presidential Complex, Starmer said, “This agreement will strengthen not only the defence ties between our two nations but also NATO’s collective security.”
Starmer also stated that, within the framework of a new and modern free trade agreement, they aim to pursue close cooperation with Turkey in the fields of security, counterterrorism, migration, and energy. Highlighting Turkey’s growing regional and economic importance, Starmer said, “Today, we are announcing a new framework in UK–Turkey relations with a vision of strategic partnership.”
The UK Prime Minister added that the agreement would make a significant contribution to the British economy, noting, “The Eurofighter sales will create employment opportunities for approximately 20,000 people in the UK.”

Deliveries Begin in 2026
The delivery of the 44 fighter jets is scheduled to begin at the start of 2026. The agreement is considered a strategic step towards modernising Turkey’s air force and strengthening the military and economic cooperation between the two countries.
