Plane Collides with Flagpoles Due to Brake Failure

On the night of December 1, a plane collided with flagpoles while parked at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya, causing significant damage. The nose of the De Havilland Canada DHC-8-402 aircraft became wedged between two thick metal poles, resulting in deep scratches and dents.

Initial findings indicate that the incident occurred because the aircraft was left without wheel chocks or activated brakes. The Jambojet-operated plane was undergoing nighttime maintenance when the accident happened. A statement confirmed that no personnel were injured and that the aircraft was withdrawn from service for cleaning and inspection.

Jambojet assured that it is working closely with authorities to investigate the incident and implement measures to prevent future occurrences. The airline also warned of potential delays on some flights, promising to keep affected passengers informed.
