The World Aviation Festival, held this year in Lisbon, continues at full speed. As part of the event, Pegasus Airlines Chief Commercial Officer Onur Dedeköylü shared his insights alongside other leading figures in the aviation industry during the session titled “Commercial Leaders Panel: From strategy to execution – rethinking the commercial playbook for 2026 and beyond”, moderated by Henry Harteveldt.
Changing Needs and the Impact of AI
Dedeköylü emphasised the rapid evolution of how people travel:
“The desire to manage one’s own journey flexibly and to receive AI support in planning are among the most significant changes we are witnessing today. Airlines that can adapt to these new habits will be much more successful.”
The Transformation of AI and LLMs
“Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how guests perceive airlines. Generative AI and large language models (LLMs) are no longer just technologies—they are transforming into new sales and service platforms.”
Trust Will Define Success in LLMs
Dedeköylü highlighted that the success of LLMs depends on building trust:
“LLMs will only be successful to the extent that they can establish a trust-based relationship with people. Technological solutions will soon underpin many processes, including sales. However, this transformation will only happen by earning users’ trust.”
Rapid AI Transformation Through the Innovation Lab
Pegasus’s Innovation Lab in Silicon Valley continues to be a driving force in the airline’s AI-focused transformation. Dedeköylü stated,
“As Pegasus, we are in the midst of a fast and determined AI transformation.”
