Pegasus Airlines is set to launch a new route connecting Bristol Airport in South West England with Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, starting 8 July 2025. The service will operate three times a week and will further strengthen Pegasus’s extensive network spanning Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa.
Thanks to this new connection, passengers will not only be able to travel to Turkey, but also easily reach strategic destinations such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Morocco. Pegasus’s expansive transfer network, centred in Istanbul, offers a faster and more economical travel alternative for those departing from Bristol.
Bristol Airport: “A Significant Contribution to Regional Development”
Dave Lees, CEO of Bristol Airport, expressed his enthusiasm for the new route:
“We are thrilled to welcome Pegasus Airlines to our airport. These new flights will enhance connectivity to Turkey, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, while also making it easier for international visitors to explore the cultural and touristic wealth of South West England and South Wales.”
Year-Round Travel Supporting the Local Economy
Kathryn Davis, CEO of Visit West, highlighted the route’s potential benefits for the region’s tourism sector:
“This connection offers year-round travel opportunities and could stimulate visitor numbers, particularly during off-peak seasons. It will greatly benefit small and medium-sized enterprises, the accommodation sector, and local attractions. Moreover, it is expected to create new employment opportunities and support economic development in the region.”
A New Gateway for International Access
The new service not only provides direct access to Istanbul for travellers from Bristol, but also opens up Pegasus’s broad network of destinations across the UAE, Central Asia, North Africa, and the Middle East. This will reduce reliance on London-based airports for both leisure and business travel.
