Pegasus Airlines has unveiled its 2025 summer flight schedule from Germany to Turkey at a special press conference held in Nuremberg. The event was attended by Emre Pekesen, Pegasus Airlines’ Director of Sales and Network Planning, and Dr Michael Hupe, CEO of Nuremberg Albrecht Dürer Airport. The announcements included significant updates for both Turkish and German travellers.
More Flights from Germany to Turkey, Affordable Day & Night Services
According to Pegasus’s 2025 summer flight schedule, direct flights will be operated from various German cities to Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Ankara, and Adana. Starting from June, the frequency of these flights will increase, and additional services may be added based on demand during the peak season.
Speaking directly to Turkish expatriates travelling from Germany to Turkey, Emre Pekesen announced that both affordable day and night flights, as well as early booking promotions, are now available for purchase. These new flight arrangements aim to offer passengers advantages in both cost and convenience.
37.5 Million Passengers in 2024: Sustainability and Women’s Empowerment Take Centre Stage in 2025
Pekesen also reflected on Pegasus’s performance in 2024, noting that the airline carried 3 million passengers from Germany alone and reached a total of 37.5 million passengers overall. He added that the Pegasus fleet currently consists of 120 aircraft, operating flights to 151 destinations in 54 countries.
As part of the airline’s environmentally conscious flight policies, efforts to reduce its carbon footprint have been accelerated, with sustainability goals remaining a top priority.
Rising Number of Female Pilots and Scholarship Support for Young Women
The press conference also highlighted Pegasus’s ongoing efforts to increase female employment, led by Turkey’s first female airline CEO, Güliz Öztürk. The airline currently employs 125 female pilots, with this number expected to grow.
Pekesen also reminded attendees that, in collaboration with the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV), Pegasus provided scholarships to 1,000 female university students in February 2024. He reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to supporting the inclusion of young women in professional life through positive action initiatives.
A New Era Between Nuremberg and Turkey
Dr Michael Hupe, CEO of Nuremberg Albrecht Dürer Airport, expressed his appreciation for Pegasus’s expanding flight network, noting the significant convenience it brings to local residents. He stated that Turkey was the most popular destination from Nuremberg Airport in 2024, with Antalya—Nuremberg’s sister city—being the top route.
Hupe also emphasised the economic value of direct and affordable flights for both the region and its people and shared insights into the airport’s sustainable energy and digitalisation projects, as well as destination planning for 2025.
