Pegasus Airlines inaugurated new international flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen to the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava (BTS), starting from May 15th.
Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (ISG) is diversifying its travel experience to Europe with new routes. Pegasus Airlines, one of ISG’s business partners, commenced new international flights from Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen to the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava (BTS), as of May 15th.
This new route by Pegasus Airlines marks the sixth new international route initiated in 2024 after Zagreb, Sfenks, Aktau, Sofia, and Chisinau. Flights between Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen and Bratislava will operate twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays.
It is expected that this new route will bring an additional 23,000 international passengers to Sabiha Gökçen throughout the rest of the year. Thus, Sabiha Gökçen Airport will be serving 40 domestic and 122 international destinations in 53 countries, significantly enhancing connectivity to a total of 162 destinations. The airport continues to steadily increase its passenger numbers since the beginning of 2024.
Serhat Soğukpınar, the CEO of ISG, stated that with the opening of this new route at the beginning of the tourism season, they have connected Istanbul directly to Bratislava, one of Europe’s historic cities. Soğukpınar also emphasized that they continue to work to provide comfort and convenience to guests traveling both from Istanbul to Bratislava and vice versa.
