Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines is expanding its flight network to Germany and Switzerland. As part of its 2025 summer schedule, the airline is introducing two new European routes, aiming to establish direct connections from various Turkish cities to Central Europe.
Ankara – Basel-Mulhouse Flights to Launch on 11 June
According to information published on the “Aeroroutes” portal, Pegasus will launch a weekly flight between Ankara Esenboğa Airport (ESB) and Basel-Mulhouse Airport (BSL) starting from 11 June 2025.
This new route will directly connect Turkey’s capital with the tri-national Upper Rhine region, located at the intersection of France, Switzerland, and Germany. Basel-Mulhouse, an attractive destination for both business and cultural tourism, is set to strengthen Pegasus’s strategic presence in Central Europe.
First Samsun – Berlin Flight on 21 June
Pegasus’s second new route will link the key Black Sea port city of Samsun (SZF) with the German capital Berlin (BER). Scheduled to start on 21 June 2025, this route will also operate on a weekly basis.
The new connection is expected to draw significant interest from the large Turkish diaspora in Germany, as well as from European tourists eager to explore the Black Sea region. It also offers time and cost advantages for business travellers.
Pegasus Continues to Strengthen Its European Network
Headquartered in Istanbul, Pegasus Airlines is continuously expanding its European network, which includes Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. In addition to the newly announced Basel and Berlin routes, the airline currently operates regular flights:
-
From Izmir to Munich and Zurich
-
From Antalya to Erfurt, Graz, and Salzburg
With these new routes, Pegasus aims not only to boost tourism but also to support commercial ties between Turkey and Central Europe. Passengers will benefit from more direct flight options and the ability to travel at competitive prices.
New Routes Reflect Pegasus’s European Strategy
This expansion underscores Pegasus Airlines’ confidence in the growing European low-cost market. The success of the Ankara–Basel and Samsun–Berlin routes could pave the way for the addition of new destinations in Germany and Switzerland in the future.
