Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport (ISG) marked one of the busiest days in its history on April 6, the last day of the Ramadan holiday. The airport broke records in five different categories: total daily passenger numbers, international passengers, arriving passengers, departing flights, and total flights.
According to a statement shared on ISG’s official social media accounts, the airport hosted a total of 141,931 passengers on Saturday, April 6.
New Peak in International Flights: 82,498 Passengers
On the same day, a total of 82,498 international passengers were served. The number of arriving international passengers was recorded as 41,959. Out of 458 total international flights, 236 were departures.

Records Set at Both the Beginning and End of the Holiday
As Turkey’s second busiest airport and Europe’s tenth, ISG saw a strong start to the holiday period. On March 29, the airport served 65,864 domestic and 75,296 international passengers—welcoming a total of 141,160 passengers and operating 777 flights in a single day, marking the busiest flight day in its history.
On April 6, the last day of the holiday, a total of 757 flights were operated, serving 59,433 domestic and 82,498 international passengers—setting a new daily passenger record.
New Record for International Flights
ISG also broke its previous international passenger record of 78,265, set on January 26, by reaching 82,498 international passengers on April 6. With 41,959 arriving passengers, 236 international departures, and 458 international flights, the airport added several new records to its list.
1.28 Million Passengers Served Over the 10-Day Holiday
Between March 28 and April 6, during the holiday period, ISG handled:

3,078 domestic flights with 582,945 passengers

4,088 international flights with 701,656 passengers
In total, 1,284,601 passengers were served through 7,166 flights.
Having closed the previous year with a record-breaking 41.5 million passengers, Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport aims to increase this number to 43.2 million in 2025, strengthening its position in the international market.
