On SunExpress’s Antalya–Vienna flight on 21 October 2025, a passenger became unwell on board and passed away. The aircraft was diverted to Budapest for an emergency landing.
A tragic incident occurred on SunExpress flight XQ196 from Antalya to Vienna on Tuesday. An elderly female passenger in her 80s suddenly fell ill during the flight.
According to aviation reports, the flight crew provided first aid to the passenger while in the air. As the situation became critical, the captain decided to divert the aircraft to Budapest.
After landing at Budapest Airport, medical teams attended to the passenger at the scene. Despite all efforts, the woman unfortunately lost her life.
Following the completion of necessary procedures, the flight was rescheduled, and the remaining passengers were safely transported to Vienna. (HSM)
