Tensions have flared up again in the region following India’s airstrikes on Pakistan. In a statement released by the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, all flight operations at Karachi, Lahore, and Sialkot airports have been temporarily suspended.
Officials noted that flights at the three strategic airports were halted until noon, while many international airlines also suspended their operations to Pakistan. Due to the crisis, Pakistan’s airspace has been closed for a duration of 48 hours.
With air traffic suspended, flights that were scheduled to land in Islamabad and Lahore have been diverted to alternative airports in Karachi and surrounding cities.
