As tensions in the Middle East remain high, the United States’ military support for Israel continues to draw attention. According to information shared by Israel’s state broadcaster KAN, nine military transport aircraft from the U.S. landed at Nevatim Airbase in southern Israel within the past 24 hours.
These aircraft reportedly delivered high-tonnage munitions to Israel, primarily bunker-buster bombs. Security sources suggest that this shipment is part of a contingency plan in case nuclear negotiations between the U.S. and Iran fail.
Increased Ammunition Transfers to Israel
It has been reported that part of the shipment was transported from U.S. military bases in Europe and the Middle East. As part of the transfer, dozens of cargo planes carrying interceptor missiles for the THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defence) system and MK-84 high-tonnage bombs also arrived in Israel last week.
Allegations of an Operation Against Iran Resurface
This large-scale transfer, carried out with U.S. support, is being linked to a possible Israeli operation targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities. According to a report by The New York Times, the Israeli government allegedly informed the White House of plans to carry out a major operation against Iran in May.
The report claimed that then-U.S. President Donald Trump did not approve the operation and instead opted for a diplomatic resolution. While the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office did not deny the reports, Trump stated that Israel had “not postponed its plans, but simply wasn’t rushing into them.”
