The Aer Lingus Airbus A330-302 (EI-FNH), operating flight EL121, took off from Dublin Airport (DUB) on February 11, bound for Orlando (MCO). However, due to a technical malfunction, the aircraft was forced to make an emergency return to Dublin after spending some time in the air.
Flames were seen coming from the aircraft, which is powered by GE CF6-80E1A4 turbofan engines, while it was flying over Dublin.




Statement from Aer Lingus:
The airline issued a statement regarding the incident, saying:
“Aer Lingus flight EL121, operating from Dublin to Orlando, safely returned to Dublin Airport shortly after takeoff due to a technical issue.”
Additionally, the statement noted:
“The aircraft safely reached its designated holding position, and all passengers were evacuated. Passengers will continue their journey to Orlando on a new Aer Lingus flight departing from Dublin this evening.”
