As BBN Airlines continues to expand its strategic partnerships, it has taken a noteworthy step within the Turkish aviation sector. The company has broadened its existing cooperation with AJet by incorporating two Airbus A321 passenger aircraft from the SmartLynx fleet. These aircraft will be registered under Turkish registration codes TC-GPF and TC-GPG.
New AJet Leases: Cockpit by BBN, Cabin by AJet
The operational collaboration model stands out in the two aircraft to be leased by BBN Airlines to AJet. While the cockpit crew will be provided by BBN Airlines, the cabin crew will consist of AJet personnel. This integration of expertise from both companies aims to ensure continuity in passenger experience.
These aircraft were previously operated by SmartLynx and were already in service with the AJet fleet. However, Turkish Airlines (THY) and AJet have decided not to renew their lease agreement with SmartLynx as of 2025. Following this development, the aircraft have been transferred to BBN Airlines.
BBN Airlines Expands Its Fleet
With the addition of these new aircraft, the total number of aircraft in the BBN Airlines fleet has risen to 12. The company continues to provide services in both passenger and cargo transportation. The current fleet consists of:
-
7 Airbus A321-200
-
2 Airbus A320-200
-
3 Airbus A321-P2F (freighter aircraft)
With this latest move, BBN Airlines not only strengthens its fleet but also transforms its leasing model with AJet into a more flexible and sustainable structure.
Increase in Turkish-Registered Aircraft
The transition of these aircraft to Turkish registration further enriches Turkey’s civil aviation inventory. An increase in Turkish-registered aircraft contributes to the local aviation sector while offering advantages in operational cost control and technical process management.
