Türk Hava Kurumu University and Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) have taken a historic step in aviation education. On January 8, 2025, the two parties signed a protocol aimed at strengthening educational collaboration during a ceremony held at TUSAŞ headquarters.
Noteworthy Statements from the Signatories
The protocol was signed on behalf of TUSAŞ by TUSAŞ Academy President V. Ender Ak and General Manager Dr. Mehmet Demiroğlu, and on behalf of Türk Hava Kurumu University by Ankara Aviation Vocational School Director Assoc. Prof. Hicran Kasa and Rector Prof. Dr. Rahmi Er. The agreement aims to support Turkey’s growth objectives in the aviation and defense industries.

Integration of Education and Practice: A New Model
The agreement marks a first for Turkey. The curricula of THK University’s Aircraft Manufacturing Technology and Aircraft Technology programs will be integrated with TUSAŞ’s Aircraft Technician Development Program (HAT).
Through this integration, students will gain internship opportunities within TUSAŞ. This will allow them to acquire practical skills and firsthand experience with the real-world dynamics of the aviation sector while still pursuing their university education.
Developing Skilled Professionals for Aviation and Defense
The collaboration between Türk Hava Kurumu University and TUSAŞ focuses on fostering qualified human resources for Turkey’s aviation and defense industries.
Officials from THK University expressed optimism about the significant contributions the agreement would make to the sector, stating:
“We hope this protocol will bring benefits to TUSAŞ, our university, our students, and our country.”
