Pasifik Teknoloji has entered the second phase of its ALPİN unmanned cargo helicopter project. Fatih Erdoğan, Chairman of Pasifik Holding, stated that the helicopter boasts a 75% domestic production rate and is designed for both defense and logistics purposes. The helicopter offers a 90% savings on initial investment and a 95% reduction in operational costs.
Cutting-Edge Technology in Service of the Turkish Armed Forces
The first-generation helicopters developed under the ALPİN project have been in use by the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) for years. Training programs enable soldiers to quickly become unmanned helicopter pilots. The second-generation ALPİN features higher payload capacity and advanced technologies.
Rising International Demand
Pasifik Teknoloji’s General Manager, M. Selman Dönmez, highlighted that ALPİN can reach speeds of 120 km/h and has a range of 800 km. He noted growing interest from countries like Nigeria and Kazakhstan. Plans are underway to increase the payload capacity of enhanced versions to 500 kilograms.
Expanding from Defense to Civilian Applications
Fatih Erdoğan emphasized the potential of ALPİN in civilian logistics and disaster response scenarios. He also mentioned that different versions of the product could be equipped with radar and weapon systems. Erdoğan underscored the development of these technologies as entirely domestic and highlighted ambitious export goals.
Investment in the Future: Large-Scale Factory and R&D Plans
Pasifik Holding aims to invest 3 billion TL over the next three years, allocating 35-40% of the budget to R&D. The company plans to take significant steps in the defense industry through new factory investments and cutting-edge technologies.
A Global Shift Toward Unmanned Technologies
Turkey ranks second after the United States in the unmanned aerial vehicle sector. Pasifik Teknoloji is strengthening its position in this field with ALPİN and other unmanned solutions. Work on armed models continues, with ALPİN designed to be weaponized based on field requirements.
