Passengers experienced moments of fear last night on an AJet flight from Ankara to Gaziantep. Due to severe turbulence and strong winds, the aircraft was unable to land and was redirected to Şanlıurfa Airport. However, the plane also failed to land on its first attempt there but managed to touch down safely on the second attempt.
Strong Winds Disrupt Gaziantep Airspace
Severe weather conditions at Gaziantep Airport last night negatively impacted flight operations. The AJet plane, which took off from Ankara at 11:40 PM, faced a major crisis when it was unable to complete its scheduled landing.
According to reports, the pilot attempted to land at Gaziantep Airport three times but had to abort each attempt due to strong winds. This caused panic among the passengers. After circling in the air for a while, the aircraft was redirected to Şanlıurfa Airport for a safer landing.
Challenging Landing in Şanlıurfa
Even upon reaching Şanlıurfa Airport, the plane failed to land on its first attempt. As passenger anxiety grew, the aircraft successfully landed on the second attempt.
After a wait of approximately half an hour, passengers were evacuated from the plane. This challenging journey, which began at 11:40 PM, finally concluded at 3:30 AM at Şanlıurfa Airport.
