Tensions in the Middle East have reignited following a new alleged attack by Yemen’s Houthis targeting the heart of Israel. The Houthis claim they launched a “Palestine-2” ballistic missile at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.
Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree stated on television that the attacks would continue until Israel ends its assault and blockade on Gaza. The statement was interpreted as a signal of continued Houthi military activity in the region.
The Israeli military announced that a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted by its air defence systems. However, a brief state of alarm was declared in Tel Aviv following the incident.
Israeli media reported that civilians were directed to shelters due to the missile threat and that flights at Ben Gurion Airport were temporarily halted. The incident disrupted air traffic in the region and received significant coverage in the international press.
