Air Algérie has received its first Airbus A330-900 (A330neo) aircraft as an important milestone in the renewal of its long-range fleet. The delivery strengthens the airline’s strategic partnership with Airbus and forms the foundation of Air Algérie’s Algeria-based global expansion plans.
The new A330neo will serve the airline’s upcoming transatlantic and Asian routes and will enhance Air Algérie’s global competitiveness.
It Will Become Africa’s Largest A330neo Operator
With seven additional A330neo aircraft to be added to its fleet, Air Algérie will become the largest operator of this aircraft type on the African continent. The new-generation A330neo offers lower fuel consumption, improved environmental performance, and higher operational efficiency, providing significant advantages to the airline’s long-haul operations.
The A330neo received by the airline is equipped with a three-class, fully lie-flat seat configuration consisting of:
- 18 Business Class seats,
- 24 Premium Economy seats,
- 266 Economy seats.
- Top-Level Comfort with the Latest Airspace Cabin
The A330neo offers passengers an enhanced travel experience with Airbus’s award-winning Airspace cabin concept. The cabin is designed to provide high comfort on long journeys with increased personal space, expanded overhead bins, improved ambient lighting, and the latest in-flight entertainment and connectivity systems.
Air Algérie Establishes a “Center of Excellence” for the A330neo
With the delivery, Air Algérie will expand its maintenance and repair capabilities and establish a dedicated maintenance training center for the A330neo. This investment aims to position Algeria as a major technical hub in the region.
A330 Family Continues Its Global Success
As of the end of October 2025, the Airbus A330 Family has received more than 1,900 firm orders from over 130 customers worldwide. The A330neo, like all Airbus aircraft, is compatible with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Airbus aims for all its aircraft to be 100% SAF compatible by 2030.
