Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) has taken a critical step toward exporting the supersonic jet trainer HÜRJET, developed with national resources, to the European market. This strategic move, which will represent Turkey’s aviation vision on the international stage, was formalised through a cooperation agreement signed with Airbus.
Under the agreement, TUSAŞ and Airbus aim to jointly manage the export process of HÜRJET to Spain by leveraging their combined engineering and technological expertise, with a target of supplying up to 30 aircraft. The final sales contract is expected to be signed by the end of 2025, with deliveries planned to begin in 2028.

Aiming for Strong Positioning in the European Market
This process, which begins with Spain, marks a significant milestone in HÜRJET’s entry into international defence inventories. With this cooperation, Turkey aims to position itself in the European aviation market not only as a manufacturer but also as a strategic player exporting high-tech systems.
HÜRJET, with its high manoeuvrability, supersonic performance, and advanced mission systems, is revolutionising pilot training while also standing out as a versatile platform for light combat missions.

TUSAŞ: “This partnership is a reflection of our determination”
TUSAŞ officials emphasised that this cooperation agreement with Airbus showcases the level of technological advancement Turkey has achieved in its defence industry and its global vision. The statement included the following remarks:
“This partnership will be decisive in HÜRJET’s emergence as a strong player on the international stage. The level our country has reached with national platforms and the gains to be obtained from this cooperation are a reflection of our determination and vision in the field of aviation.”
