Lufthansa flight LH 600 landed at Imam Khomeini International Airport on Saturday night, marking the airline’s resumption of flights to Tehran after a temporary suspension.

Resumption of Flights to Tehran by Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines

Saeed Halandari, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Imam Khomeini Airport City Company, announced that Lufthansa Group and Austrian Airlines had decided to restart their flights to Imam Khomeini International Airport. Halandari stated that Lufthansa flights would resume on 1 March, with Austrian Airlines flights following on 2 March.

The Communication, Information, and International Relations Office of Imam Khomeini Airport announced that Lufthansa flight LH 600, departing from Frankfurt, landed in Tehran at 22:29 on Saturday, 2 March, officially restarting the airline’s Tehran route after a long hiatus.

Iran-Europe Flights Were Suspended Due to Sanctions

Flights between Iran and Europe were suspended in mid-October 2024 following EU sanctions imposed on Iran over allegations of supplying drones to Russia for use in the Ukraine war. Iran strongly denied these allegations.
