German airline giant Lufthansa Group has announced that it is extending the suspension of its flights to Tel Aviv until 15 June 2025, citing Israel’s recent military operations in the Gaza Strip and the increasing security risks in the region.

The flight cancellations, which began on 4 May 2025, involve a temporary halt to all scheduled flights to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion International Airport operated by the group. In its statement, Lufthansa noted that affected passengers will be offered rebooking options and alternative flights.

Safety Is Our Priority

The Lufthansa Group stated:
“The safety of our passengers and crew is always our top priority. Developments in the region are being closely monitored. Flights to Tel Aviv will remain suspended until the end of 15 June 2025.”

The Lufthansa Group includes major airline brands such as Eurowings, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines. This decision impacts the group’s extensive flight network.

Suspension Follows Ballistic Missile Attack

The suspension follows a ballistic missile attack by Yemen-based Houthi forces targeting Ben Gurion Airport in Israel. This incident heightened international security concerns regarding air traffic to Tel Aviv.

Passenger Notification and Alternative Planning Underway

Lufthansa representatives confirmed that affected passengers are being directly informed, and options for rerouting to other destinations and free ticket changes are being provided based on availability. Passengers can find detailed and up-to-date information through Lufthansa’s official website and customer service channels.
