Lufthansa and Low-Cost Airlines Boost Operations to Israel

Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, and Lufthansa among the world’s leading airline companies continue to expand their influence in the global aviation sector. Lufthansa Group has announced it will resume flights to Israel starting February 1, following a suspension last summer.

Lufthansa’s decision to return to Israel aligns with plans by other airlines to increase their operations in the region. Low-cost carriers such as Wizz Air will resume flights to Ben Gurion Airport and expand operations to 14 new destinations, a number expected to reach 23 by the summer schedule. Ryanair also plans to offer an expanded flight network for the summer season.

Uncertainty at Air France and British Airways

However, some airlines remain cautious about resuming flights to Israel:

  • Air France: The resumption of flights to Israel has been delayed until January 24.
  • British Airways and easyJet: No official date for restarting operations has been announced yet.

U.S. Airlines Shaping Their Israel Plans

Delta Airways is expected to resume Tel Aviv-New York flights in April. However, there is no information yet on when American Airlines and United Airlines will restart their flights to Israel.
