During his meeting with Airbus Europe CEO Johan Pelissier in Berlin on November 27, President Japarov shared key updates regarding the removal of Kyrgyz airlines from the EU Safety List. This step is seen as a result of Kyrgyzstan’s efforts to align its aviation sector with international standards.
Accelerated Safety and Infrastructure Improvements
Japarov highlighted that Kyrgyzstan has implemented significant reforms in recent years to enhance air transport safety and develop infrastructure that meets international standards. Exiting the blacklist will allow Kyrgyz airlines to operate direct flights to Europe and create new opportunities in the aviation sector.
Modern Flights with Asman Airlines
Kyrgyzstan’s national carrier, Asman Airlines, is modernizing its fleet in collaboration with Airbus. Initially, two new aircraft models, A320 and A321, will be leased from Airbus Europe. These planes will enable direct flights from Bishkek to Paris, Berlin, and London. Upon successful operations, the partnership is expected to expand further.
The European Union Air Safety List
The EU Air Safety List includes airlines that are restricted from operating in European countries due to safety concerns. Being removed from this list marks a significant milestone for Kyrgyzstan’s aviation sector. It brings Kyrgyzstan closer to the European market and enhances its competitiveness in international air transportation.
President Japarov invited Airbus CEO Pelissier to Kyrgyzstan for direct discussions with aviation sector officials.
