Kuweires Military Airbase Transferred to the Syrian National Army’s Control

The strategically important Kuweires Military Airbase, located east of Aleppo, came under the control of the Syrian National Army (SNA) as of December 1. Approximately 30 fighter jets and 10 helicopters were found abandoned at the airbase, which was previously held by opposition groups led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS). SNA soldiers have increased security measures in the area to guard against potential attacks.

“We Will Liberate Other Cities From the Regime”

Speaking after the operation, SNA soldier Abuhalid highlighted the significance of taking control of the Kuweires Military Airbase in the broader fight against the regime across Syria:

“Thanks to God, we have cleared Kuweires and taken control of the helicopters and fighter jets here.”

“We Will Expel Iran and Russia From Syria”

Another SNA soldier, Muhammad, expressed his determination following the operation:

“We have liberated Kuweires and rescued all the planes here. God willing, we will take other cities as well. We will cleanse all of Syria, and we will expel Iran and Russia from Syria, God willing.”

These statements signal a potential new phase in the ongoing civil war, with the capture of the Kuweires Military Airbase being considered a strategic victory for opposition groups.
