KIZILELMA Makes History with TOLUN and TEBER-82!
Bayraktar KIZILELMA, Türkiye’s domestically developed unmanned fighter aircraft by Baykar, successfully hit its targets with the TOLUN and TEBER-82 munitions during its first live-fire test. Scheduled to enter service in 2026, KIZILELMA marks the beginning of a new era in Türkiye’s defence industry.
Bayraktar KIZILELMA, Türkiye’s first unmanned fighter aircraft developed entirely by Baykar using domestic and national resources, successfully completed its first live-fire test with the TOLUN and TEBER-82 munitions with pinpoint accuracy.
During the trials held at the AKINCI Flight Training and Test Center in Çorlu, Tekirdağ, the third prototype of Bayraktar KIZILELMA (PT-3) performed two sorties. In the first flight, KIZILELMA fired the TOLUN munition produced by ASELSAN, striking the target successfully. In the second flight, the TEBER-82 Wing-Assisted Guidance Kit developed by ROKETSAN was used, and this test also achieved a direct hit.
Equipped with Next-Generation Capabilities
Based on the experience gained during the testing phase, structural and avionics improvements were made to the production prototype. Bayraktar KIZILELMA, which conducted its first flight with the newly integrated afterburner engine option, draws attention with its near-supersonic performance. Thanks to aerodynamic enhancements, it has gained superior agility at high speeds and, with its AESA radar system, provides advanced situational awareness—enabling it to perform even the most challenging missions.
Planned to Enter Service in 2026
The KIZILELMA project, launched in 2021 with entirely self-financed resources, rolled off the production line on 14 November 2022 and made its maiden flight just one month later, on 14 December 2022. While testing activities continue, the national unmanned fighter aircraft has already entered the mass production phase, with plans to join the Turkish Armed Forces inventory in 2026.
Achieving Firsts in Aviation History
Throughout TEKNOFEST 2023, Bayraktar KIZILELMA made aviation history by performing a formation flight with Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV—an unprecedented feat in the world. On 1 May 2023, it also flew in formation over Istanbul with the F-16 SOLOTÜRK and Turkish Stars aerobatic teams, marking the dawn of a new era in aerial combat.
The World’s Largest UAV Company: Baykar
Since 2003, Baykar has carried out all its projects using its own resources, generating 90% of its revenue from exports and achieving $1.8 billion in exports in 2024. Ranked among Türkiye’s top 10 exporters across all industries in both 2023 and 2024, Baykar has been the export leader of the defence and aerospace sector for four consecutive years, according to data from the Defence Industry Agency and the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM).
Baykar has signed export agreements with a total of 36 countries—35 for the Bayraktar TB2 UCAV and 15 for the Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV—positioning Türkiye as a global leader in the unmanned combat aerial vehicle market.
