KEMANKEŞ 1 Demonstrates Its Capabilities: Mini Cruise Missile Launched from Bayraktar AKINCI Strikes Airborne Targets with Pinpoint Accuracy

The KEMANKEŞ 1 AI-powered Mini Cruise Missile, developed indigenously and nationally by Baykar, has successfully passed another significant milestone in its rigorous testing process. Fired for the first time from the Bayraktar AKINCI Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle (UCAV), KEMANKEŞ 1 hit airborne targets with high accuracy, showcasing its critical mission capabilities.

First Launch Conducted with AKINCI UCAV

The test was carried out under the coordination of the Flight Training and Test Centers in Çorlu and Keşan. Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV took off carrying two KEMANKEŞ 1 missiles under its wings and, as part of the test scenario, targeted moving aerial targets. Equipped with an AI-assisted targeting system, KEMANKEŞ 1 autonomously struck its designated targets with high precision. As a result, critical mission modes such as air target elimination, cruising, and visual dive were successfully tested.

High Technology for Challenging Missions

With an operational range of over 200 kilometers, KEMANKEŞ 1 serves as a significant force multiplier for strategic deep-range targets. Powered by a jet engine, this mini smart missile can be deployed on Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV, Bayraktar TB2, and Bayraktar TB3 UAV platforms. Its AI-supported optical guidance system enables it to detect and neutralize targets even under harsh weather conditions.

Battlefield Superiority with Anti-Jamming and Autonomous Flight

Thanks to anti-jamming technology, KEMANKEŞ 1 can operate undisturbed by electronic interference and delivers high-precision performance day or night in all conditions. Its autonomous flight capability, AI-powered autopilot system, and continuous data exchange with the host platform offer operators real-time tracking and enhanced battlefield situational awareness.

Baykar Leads in Export

Baykar, which carries out all its projects with its own resources, achieved $1.8 billion in exports in 2023 and 2024. Generating 90% of its revenue from exports, the company has solidified its position as Turkey’s leading exporter in the defense and aerospace industry. Baykar has signed export agreements for the Bayraktar TB2 UAV with 35 countries and for the Bayraktar AKINCI UCAV with 15 countries, exporting to a total of 36 countries and becoming a global leader in the UAV market.

First Public Appearance at TEKNOFEST 2023

KEMANKEŞ 1 was unveiled to the public for the first time at TEKNOFEST, held at Atatürk Airport between April 27 and May 1, 2023. Named after the historic archers who hit their targets under the most challenging conditions, KEMANKEŞ 1 highlights the advanced stage of Turkey’s national engineering capabilities.
