An AgustaWestland AW139 helicopter, bearing the Turkish registration code TC-HKT and operated by Turkey-based aviation company Kaan Air, successfully landed at Malta International Airport today. The helicopter was spotted on the GOLF taxiway and has reportedly been directed to a maintenance provider operating within the Lower Safi Aviation Park.

This medium-class, twin-engine, high-performance AW139 helicopter is typically based in Antalya. However, today’s flight was specifically conducted for maintenance and technical servicing (MRO) purposes.

Kaan Air: A Strong Representative of Leonardo Helicopters in Turkey

As the official distributor of Leonardo Helicopters in Turkey, Kaan Air supports the widespread use of models like the AW139 for civil aviation, energy, and private sector needs. The company operates a robust helicopter network across Turkey, providing VIP transportation, air ambulance services, firefighting, and energy sector logistics.

Malta’s MRO Vision: A Strategic Hub

Safi Aviation Park, where the helicopter has been directed, has emerged as one of Europe’s up-and-coming MRO centres in recent years, thanks to significant investments in heavy aircraft maintenance, conversion, and modernisation services.

This flight highlights both the Turkish civil aviation sector’s commitment to maintenance standards and Malta’s growing regional capabilities in MRO services. (maltahaber)
