Japan Airlines Flight Experiences Tire Blowout, Three Flights Delayed

A Japan Airlines Boeing 737-846, flight JAL/JL647, traveling from Tokyo/Haneda to Kagoshima, encountered a significant technical issue during its landing at Kagoshima Airport. The aircraft experienced a tire blowout on the right main landing gear during landing, causing white smoke to rise from the affected area.

Following the appearance of the white smoke, the aircraft taxied swiftly to the apron without any fire risk. Airport security and rescue teams (ARFF) immediately communicated with the aircraft and took precautionary measures. The plane was safely parked, and both passengers and crew were not at risk and were not evacuated.

After the incident, Runway 34 at Kagoshima Airport was closed until 13:59 for inspection and cleanup. During this time, three commercial flights were delayed, and air traffic was temporarily disrupted.

Following a safety inspection, the Boeing 737-846 was towed to the gate after the aircraft’s condition was clarified. Authorities confirmed that no injuries occurred during the incident and that passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft.

Airport officials stated that an investigation into the incident has been initiated, and the cause of the tire blowout is being thoroughly examined.
