Istanbul Airport (IGA) has reclaimed the top spot in the “Top 10 International Airports” survey conducted annually by the world-renowned travel and lifestyle magazine Travel and Leisure. Voted number one by readers, the airport has brought Türkiye another prestigious achievement on the global aviation stage.
Ranked First for the Second Year in a Row
According to the reader-based rankings, IGA Istanbul Airport outperformed all global competitors to win the title of “World’s Best International Airport” for the second consecutive year. Scoring high across various criteria including accessibility, security, check-in experience, shopping, dining, and terminal design, IGA stood out for its customer-centric approach and service quality that exceeds global standards.

Award Ceremony Held in New York
The award ceremony, hosted by Travel and Leisure, which reaches approximately 16 million readers monthly, was held in New York, the magazine’s headquarters. On behalf of IGA, Corporate Communications Director Gökhan Şengül received the award from Travel and Leisure Editor-in-Chief Jacqueline Gifford.
In his speech at the ceremony, Şengül stated:

First Turkish Airport to Enter the List in 2021
IGA Istanbul Airport first entered the Travel and Leisure rankings in 2021, becoming the first Turkish airport ever featured. After claiming the top spot in 2024, IGA maintained its leadership in 2025, solidifying its place on the international stage.
