According to the European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL), Istanbul Airport has once again secured its position as the busiest airport in Europe. The European Aviation Report covering the week of 9–15 June 2025 reveals that Istanbul Airport maintained its top spot with an average of 1,591 flights per day.
Based on EUROCONTROL’s traffic data, Istanbul Airport has not only become the main aviation hub of Turkey but has also emerged as the primary gateway of European air traffic. The report lists other major European airports in the following order:
