Tensions between Ankara and Jerusalem over Syria are escalating. While Israel continues to express concerns about maintaining its access to Syria’s airspace, the Israeli Air Force struck several key military targets in Syria again on Wednesday.

Among the sites targeted by Israel is an airbase in central Syria, which Turkey is believed to be interested in capturing. These recent attacks are expected to complicate Turkey’s efforts to send troops, air defense systems, and various military equipment to the region. It is also speculated that Turkey’s ability to conduct operations at these bases could be disrupted.

Recent developments are seen as a reflection of the increasing diplomatic tension between Turkey and Israel over Syria’s future. Israel’s potential plans to establish a presence at the T4 Airbase have further heightened tensions between the two countries.

IDF: “We will eliminate any threat”

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued an official statement on the attacks via Telegram. The statement read:

“In recent hours, the IDF targeted remaining military capabilities at Syria’s Hama and T4 bases and additional military infrastructure facilities in the Damascus area. Our operations will continue to eliminate any threats to Israeli civilians.”
