Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (ISG), ranked first among the fastest-growing major airports in Europe, continues to stand out with its technological innovations.
According to March 2025 data published by Airports Council International Europe (ACI Europe), ISG topped the “Major Airports” category serving over 40 million passengers annually with a growth rate of 9.6%. The airport’s digital transformation efforts have also drawn significant attention.
One of the key figures behind this success, ISG’s Director of IT and Automation, İsmihan Baysal Anderson, was named “CIO of the Year” at the IDC Türkiye CIO Summit 2025 for the airport industry’s first generative AI-powered digital assistant project: SAVVy.
SAVVy: Redefining the Passenger Experience
Launched at Sabiha Gökçen Airport in recent months, the innovative digital assistant SAVVy leverages generative AI to provide passengers with instant answers in a natural, conversational manner. The system enables call centre staff to focus on more complex inquiries, enhancing both customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
As ISG continues to handle increasing passenger traffic, SAVVy plays a strategic role in streamlining processes, setting a benchmark for AI applications in the aviation industry.
